Live well at your leisure

Wiltshire Council launches Live Well a project to promote physical activity and social opportunities for older people in Tidworth on 9 May 2018.

Live Well offers adults a range of daytime activities, services and information at council leisure facilities. Sessions have been designed specifically for our older residents and we welcome anyone that would like to lead a healthier lifestyle and meet new people in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The launch event from 11am 3pm at Tidworth Leisure Centre will showcase the types of activities and information on offer before regular weekly sessions are introduced on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30am.

Live Well's launch day will feature:

  • Seated sports
  • Board games
  • Walking netball
  • Card
  • Badminton

There will also be access to the library and café, as well as information and advice from Age UK, Tidworth Community Area Partnership and the Wiltshire Council health trainer service.

Individuals, local groups and organisations are welcome to come along and get involved.

John Thomson, cabinet member for leisure, said: "Live Well is perfect for people to enjoy a range of sessions and services under one roof. It is designed particularly for older residents but we would also love to hear their thoughts on what more we should be offering in our facilities to ensure more older people use our leisure facilities and community spaces."
