Council finalists for national award

We have been named as a finalist for a prestigious Engage award in the ‘Best Use of Innovation in Employee Engagement' category.
Our #EPIC (empowering people, innovation and collaboration) team which is made up of 21 members of staff from a variety of departments within the council, has played a major part in this.
It formed in January this year with a purpose to drive culture change by focussing on a clear strategy to improve staff engagement and embed an employer brand within the organisation. They have brought in a number of popular and well-used initiatives in a relatively short period of time, including platforms for staff to leave positive feedback for each other on a job well done, and somewhere for staff to submit their own ideas on what they think will improve the council.
Carlton Brand, corporate director at Wiltshire Council said: "I'm delighted we have been named as a finalist for this award. #EPIC continues to be a great success within the organisation. It has forged a number of working relationships between departments and partners which have been really beneficial. It gives added motivation and confidence to the staff and allows them to be part of something fresh and innovative and that's clearly what these awards are looking for."
The 2017 Engage Awards celebrate inspirational customer and employee engagement excellence. The ceremony takes place on Monday 13 November at Westminster Park Plaza in London.
