Wiltshire A-level students praised on results day

Wiltshire Council has praised students for their hard work and dedication as they collect their A-level results across the county today. Secondary schools have opened their doors early as students pick up the grades that help to determine future choices.

Pauline Church, Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Skills, said: "I wish all our young people the very best as they pick up these important results today. I'd like to congratulate our students, and their dedicated teachers and families, for their hard work to get to this point.

"I know for some this will be a more difficult day as results are not as expected. Those who haven't got the anticipated grades they hoped for should remember there are always other amazing opportunities and plenty of help available in deciding what route to take next."

Work Wiltshire, a Wiltshire Council service, offers advice in planning the next steps in education, training or apprenticeships. There is also a dedicated parents' page, to help you to support young people in your care.

Support from dedicated advisors and a wide range of information is also available at schools, Wiltshire College and the University and College Admissions Service (UCAS) helpline. The National Careers Service also provides information to help young people take the next step.
